What is a good daily skin care treatment for atopic dermatitis?

I think I have the basics for skin care for atopic dermatitis, since I've suffered from that since I was a baby.

1. Never scratch, even if it itches badly. Use a cold compress to soothe the itch, then use an oatmeal-based lotion (and any other skin care product, for that matter) to ease the dryness. Cut your nails so that you will not wound and scar yourself if you ';accidentally'; scratch yourself.

2. Avoid hot baths, as it further dries your skin. Apply oatmeal lotion after baths, and as needed, regularly, to avoid dryness.

3.Drink lots of water, to hydrate your skin. Take Vitamins C and E because it is good for your skin.

4. See your dermatologist regularly, because he/she will probably prescribe the most effective medicine (antihistamine and anti-flammatory pills or topical ointments).

Do not wait for skin condition to worsen.

Prevention is better than cure. Trust me. You do not want to deal with hyperpigmentation and scars.

P.S. One more thing, avoid eating allergen-prone food such as chicken, seafood such as crabs, shrimp, lobster, oranges, chocolates, mangoes, eggs. I usually itch and have the ';inflaming'; symptoms (reddening, swollen lips, rashes) a few hours after eating such

i have normal/combination skin. i only breakout monthly i have blackheads on my nose and i need a skin care routine to help me. ThankxWhat skin care routine should i use?
The skin routine you should use is a mild face wash, toner on the days that you break out, spot treatment such as Clean and Clear Persa Gel, and lotion. Once a week though, it's a good idea to use a face mask such as the tea tree oil one from the Body Shop. For those blackheads their is also a peeling mask you can use that the Body Shop carries. What skin care routine should i use?
tea tree oil is for your hair or your nails.i know that because i have it.if u put tree tee oil on your face u will break out even more. Report Abuse

don't use scrubbing gels as these can agrivate your skin.

use cream washes as these will sooth the skin and purify it, then apply a mosturiser.

  • How should I care for my skin?

I'm 29 and I read that women in their 20's should start to use anti-aging products on their faces. What are some good skin care products to use on my face to keep it looking young? How should I care for my skin?
Wash your face every night to remove make-up, dirt, etc. then apply night cream. During the day, be sure to use a lotion with at least an SPF 15 and an eye cream and don't go too heavy on the make-up. Neutrogena, Olay and Avon have nice and well priced skin care lines for all ages and skin types. Sample a few until you find one that best suits you.How should I care for my skin?

Believe it or not, Get yourself a box of Arm %26amp; Hammer baking soda, put a half cup of it in a warm tub of water and soak. Helps condition skin, leaving it feeling naturally soft and smooth and clean. Says so right on the box. It is also an excelent facial exfoliant!
First of all, you need protection, so wear SUNSCREEN.

It's one of the best things you could do for your skin besides keeping it hydrated.

As for other products, Oil of Olay is a great line.

    First of all, use sunscreen

    Then,

get some botox, your body will adjust to it naturally after 2 treatments; they will pick up the composition of the botox and make your skin wrinkleless and young. Yes, Botox works by paralyzing your face (temporarily), but it also has many theraputic effects and lifetime benefits afterwards.

research is on its way to show that as well.
I'm 27 and just started using anti aging products last year. If I would have known then what I know now, I would have started sooner. Arbonne has an awesome anti aging system, NutriMinC Re9.

I started using their revolutionary anti-aging system (hydrating wash, balancing toner, facial serum, transforming lift, corrective eye cream, day cr猫me, and night cr猫me) last year and absolutely love it! It is specifically formulated to reduce the affects of sun damage, decrease fine lines and wrinkles, while it works to combat the visual signs of aging. The system consists of botanically based products that contain natural collagens (hyaluronic acid), giving your skin a natural lift and others to deeply condition and hydrate your skin. They're all pure, safe, beneficial, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and formulated without alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, or mineral oil which makes them perfect for all skin types. They're unlike any others on the market as they are formulated in Switerland and made with all 9 KEY anti-aging elements (KOJIC ACID, NANOSPHERES, COPPER, VITAMIN C, ALPHA %26amp; BETA HYDROXY ACIDS, PEPTIDES, BIO-HYDRIA, ELHIBIN %26amp; STIMUTEX, and ALPHA LIPOIC ACID), giving you maximum benefit.

Their products are also formulated with nanosphere technology which makes them beneficial for all skin types and adjusts to your skins specific needs by applying more moisture in dry areas and less is oily areas. Research shows that 6 months continued use of this system will give a 68% decrease in DEEP density lines and wrinkles; however I started to notice results within a week or two.

Arbonne even has products for your entire body including a hydrating body wash, body serum, hydrating body lotion, and essential fatty acid dietary supplement, a concentrated blend of flaxseed oil, CoQ10 and beneficial elements to support younger-looking skin and good health ... from the inside, out ... and formulated in a vegetarian capsule. It's made of Flaxseed oil, vitamins A, C, E, Coenzyme Q10, alpha lipoic acid. I love the NutriMinC Re9 Anti-Aging Body Serum and Hydrating Body Lotion.

If you're interested in learning more, I'll be happy to help you.
Use something from Bath%26amp;Body works. If you go in there and ask for anti-aging creams, they will reccommend some. However, these are very expensive. If you are not willing to pay that much, go to a cheaper store, and buy a good moisturizer. When you really start to show signs of aging, you should splurge.
you should start now since u'll be hitting 30 next year. Visit any well known brand counter n check on their anti aging products. Some of them consist of other benefits too like whitening, lifting, bla bla bla...every brand offers different formulas...

If i can recommend, try Clinique or Lancome. They offer skin care range that suits every age.
I used to be a strict Almay skin care user. But then, I had my first facial and they used, Dermalogical. I have very sensitive skin, and it works great, feels great, but is a little pricey. I am 32, and this is what I will use forever.

I start by washing, then I use a ultra calming toner, then I still use the Almay anti-aging eye cream, then I finish with the barrier lotion.

    Best of luck.
I am 29 yrs old and have been dealing with the same thing. I realized after many purchases and returns of expensive creams, that Mary Kay and Nivea are the best products for me. I also discovered Basis bar soap. Its non irritating and I use it for face and body. Its moisturizing and gentle on my sensitive skin. For anti-aging, SPF is the biggest thing to use. I found that Mary Kay and Nivea have moisturizers that have an SPF in them and these are the product lines that I use, also an eye cream is very important.

Also,I dont tan like I use to, and I use a cream lotion when I am out in the sun with an SPF in it and I get a gradual nice glowing tan. I use to fry myself with baby oil when I was younger, not anymore. These are jusy some products I use and tips that work for me.

Agian, I have tried some of these expensive anti-aging creams and just ended up returning them. For me Mary Kay, and Nivea are classic products that dont irritate my skin and my mom has used Nivea for years and has wonderful skin.

    Very informative ;-)

Who can share with knowledge of a good skin care line/products?

Try the Mary Kay skin care line with customized skin care products for acne etc. The best thing to with your skin is always to keep it clean as well as treating breakouts. This helps prevent breakouts and other issues.

There are five steps to basic skin care:

    1. Cleanse

    2. Exfoliate

    3. Tone/Freshen

    4. Moisturize

    5. Protect

The Mary Kay 3 in 1 cleanser can do the first three steps in one. The fifth step is protect. You want to use an oil free foundation which our formulas for dry normal combo and oily skin are all oil free. When your skin is protected with foundation you can wash off the impurities that your skin catches in the air. The foundation catches the irritants and impurities instead of them getting into your pores causing further breakouts. Mary Kay is satisfaction guaranteed. So if you try it and it doesnt work for you you can get different products or your money back.

Also it is so important that when you are using skin care you use one line be it Mary Kay or Avon or a Walmart brand. They are formulated to work with one another. Mixing products not designed to work together can cause reactions in some people. ;)

To even out skin tone you of course need to keep your skin exfoliated but also use a solution like our day and night solution. The day solution has SPF 25 in it and the Night Solution has Vitamin A and E and more in them. These collagen inducing products help to tighten and firm the skin as well as even out tone. You can add in our Microdermabrasion once or twice a week to totally exfoliate and remove dead skin. The second step of our microderm set will return your skin to its proper PH balance so you will not be rough or dry afterwards.

I reccomend using products as follows but all skin care must be customized for an individual.

Timewise 3 in 1 Cleanser (customized for skin type)

Timewise Day Solution (at night use Night Solution)

Timewise Moisturizer (customized for skin type)

    Timewise Firming Eye cream

Additional moisturizers if needed(intense for dry spots etc)

Foundation (customized for skin type and shade)

Color products (use all oil free and non-comedogenic)

    Hope this was helpful!!

How can I take really good care of my skin?

I am 14, so i have younger skin. I have combination skin, oily t-zone and dry checks. I dont wear alot of make-up and use good products. I dont use anything to wash my face. I just wash it with water in the shower. I dont know what to use.

I really want to have radiant youthful looking skin when i am older and i want to do whatever i can to take really good care of it.

Please list all the tips you can!

thanks! =)How can I take really good care of my skin?
i do believe that we have the same, oily to combination skin type, especially around our T-Zone. It is interesting for people to think that avoiding creams can help solve oily skin. But its wrong.

You can best help your skin if you do the 3-step facial regimen: wash, tone and moisturize. Washing helps remove dust that accumulated on the surface of the skin, toning provides additional cleaning as well as it preps the skin by removing dead skin cells that can just block healthy cells' absorption of the third step, the moisturizer.

The key is to be able to find the right product to help you with your problem. I can suggest the brand: Mario Badescu. They have a line of products that really is good for our type of skin, I personally recommend the Enzyme Cleansing Wash, Cucumber Toner and the best HONEY MOISTURIZER. If you use these products, they don't have the same ''stretched-dry-skin'; that other products leave. This is often the misconception of people, that dryness and no oil means clean skin. What Mario Badescu does is gently and effectively clean it. Plus they're natural.

For additional cleaning and maintenance on acne, try their DRYING LOTION pink stuff that you put on your pimples which dries it, ACNE GEL, which serves as your drying lotion maintenance during day time. Check out their line of products online. I dont work for them, its just that they really work and i would like to share it with you.

Kudos to a healthier skin. How can I take really good care of my skin?
Try putting cream every day. Don't put too much make-up. Only put it every once in a while. Eat a lot of fruits. Especially tomatoes. They make your cheecks turn red. Always put sunscrean on before you go to the beach and after taking showers wipe your face with a smoothe baby cloth.
Radiant skin comes from within. Eat a well balanced diet. Drink plenty of water, use sun screen when exposed and wash your face with a baby wash like ';Baby Magic'; bath wash.
i want ';radiant youthful skin when i'm older'; too thats why I use....

Yes, I've used them for over 5 years and absolutely love them. The cost varies, you can buy on line or through a doctor. The best skin care line for you is cetifil. Cetifil is a non-soap that is very gentle. So gentle that it can even be used on babies, and its virtually tear free. The last thing you wanna do is to use any kind of soap on the affected area, so stay away from normal shampoo (if you have to just use conditioner) Cetifil makes face/body wash and also face/body lotion. It should also be easy to find, ask for it at your local drug store (I've even seen it at grocery stores) Hope I've helped :-)
Hi there! I am a product consultant and Im feeling good today and God gave me a new day so ill give you a free advise :P hehe! good thing it's a mild case. Now your skin just needs constant moisturizing. But since you have eczema you have to be careful what products to use because some ingredients might make the situation worse. I suggest you get the ';Perennial Intensive Moisturizer'; for your body and ';NaPCA moisture mist'; for your face if you have oily skin type or ';NaPCA moisturizer'; if you have dry skin.I use it myself, these are products with scientific research from Stanford dermatological center so very safe. I don't know if it's available in your area but I can help you get it message me at charmainelacdao@yahoo or just add me in ym ill teach you on how to get it at the cheapest price. What is the best skin care to minimize pores?

did you know that its not skin care that minimize pores they just clean them and that makes it seem that its smaller it water that do it hot water opens your pores and cold water close it so when you clean your face just pat it wit cold waterWhat is the best skin care to minimize pores?
The most effective products will have at least a 8% to 15% concentration of glycolic acid in them or 1% to 2% of salicylic acid for more oily skin types. You'll need to check out the ingredient labels to be sure that you are getting something with enough active ingredient to be effective.

Any product that includes a good percentage of retinol is also excellent.

As a home remedy, dampen a plain aspirin and rub it over the enlarged pores. Aspirin is a salicylic acid which will help to shrink the pore size.

All of these options will also help to prevent acne outbreaks and will effectively treat many aging skin care issues as well. What is the best skin care to minimize pores?
For starters, if no OTC skin products for acne work, go to a dermatologist.(And don't forget to ask what type of skin you have, and what type of acne you have.) In my own experience(through puberty it seemed like i had severe acne, but it was mostly pustules. Recently, within the last two years, age 16-18, i've had mild cystic acne which feels even worse. Anyway, it has mostly cleared up because i took a tetracycline called doxycycline prescribed by my derm. However, b/c my insurance ran out, i had to resort to alternatives. So before i bought anything, my acne started to reoccur. Then i read something that suggested i drink 8 or more glasses of water a day, get as much sleep as possible, take about 48,000-50-,000 IU's of Vitamin A (Less than $4 a bottle), and take Vitamin B(Pantoth, B-12, B5..) including them all, and nightly, either apply full-strength Tea tree oil or diluted to the skin. Vitamin A for oilyness, big pores, acne breakouts, and to lessen severity. Vitamins B for combating stress caused externally as well as hormonal fluctuations caused by too much sugars or refined carbs(hence, extreme spikes in blood sugar and stress hormones). Tea tree oil for oilyness of skin, healing of blemishes, preventing/ reducing breakouts, tightening and lifting skin, better complexion. Hope that helps!
cold water works if u dont want to use any products..

and biore works too and its inexpensive :D

go to the doctor and they will give u a shot of penicillin to stop the spread of the infection, put antibiotic ointment on it, rubbing alcohol around the infection, and change bandages every 4-8 hours, stay out of sunlight no more than 30 min. max because that can worsen the infection, try and stay away from people so they wont get it.

the Time Defiance Skin Refishing Lotion if very good and at a good price if you compare with Lancom or whatever brands from Macy's, but if you think the combination is expensive you can just get the Scrub and do the steps:

    1. cleanse your skin

    2. Scrub (to get rid of the dead skin cells, once or twice a week till your skin got better you can reduce the usage to once a week)

    3. pat some toner (which adjust your skin ph)

    4. moisturizing masque (which cost you $1 or less per use). link: http://mzhou2.qbeautyzone.com/products/p鈥?/a> this is highly recommemended on your case. if you are going to use it, make sure you apply it thoroughly cover your driest area and leave it on till it's 80% dry or longer than that no problem. you can also so any facial movement during the moisturizing masque (not the Pore Masque if you happen to use) Caution: your skin probably will have a burning sensation but don't worry, it's not allergy it's becoz your skin is too dry. you won't be feeling that after you removed it

    5. toner (use toner every time you wash your face)

    6.lotion or Creme (massage)

the essential creme, which is also Artistry product, it's more affordable than the Exfoliation lotion

try Clinique 3 step program. it is wonderful. i've been using it for years. They make it for all skin types. I have dry skin also and it works very well for me. If you go to a clinique counter (like @ macys or dillards) they should give you samples so you can try it out. They also have other clensing products besides the 3 step program to use in addition to or by themselves. Just tell them what you are trying to acheive and they will hook you up.

I love clinique 3 steps skin care. At first, it doesn't suit me. my face kept having pimples, and little things popping out. I was really upset. But friends told me to keep using, and to never give up. And, at last, I could see the result. It is indeed very satisfying.

My face is also very dry...as your face is dry too, I think you better make it very clear to the salesgirl so that you will be given the right products to use. Clinique has a whole big range of products so I'm sure you'll definitely find something that suits you.

Another thing is, you can try using different brand products at different time. I use Body Shop skincare in the morning (clinique moisturiser too oily, so I wouldn't use it in the morning). And Clinique at night. And, I have great results.

    All the best!
i'm a victim of eczema and had to learn about skin care products. my old stand-by is Vaseline intensive care lotion. it comes in different strengths and it's cheap.

see if it meets your need.
Well first you need to see what kind of kind you have, for example if its dry in all the seasons, cause it usually changes to how you live. Once you find out, try OLAY their cleanser feels gentle and their eye wrinkle cream that your going to love!
I sell Mary Kay if you would like a sample email me.
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is made from natural ingredients and gives your skin a lovely look!

What is the best skin care product that you can use to whiten and take care the texture of your skin?

Look for AHA/Glycolic acid in the ingredient of the whitening product because they're very effective as a skin whitener and in smoothing out the wrinkles too.

Retinoic acid, Vit C, kojic acid also help whiten the skin safely and with visible results in as little as 4-6 weeks.

Use kojic acid soap, and kligman's bleaching cream daily and you'll see and feel the difference in your skin.

The best thing for your skin to prevent aging is vitamin e cream, and you should start putting it on your skin from a young age. Anything containing vitamin e is helpful, but i like lancome and nivea creams best. sunscreen is good too, because sunburn causes premature aging.

What is it about the language of skin care products that persuades you to buy them?

AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!! I hate it when they do that because i know it will never work. I have used nearly every Male's skin product and have not found a good one. They say on Clearasil how you get 'Visibly clearer skin from 3 days' It's all bullshit!! I am just using fresh water now and steaming my face to get rid of the blackheads. It's all natural and it's good for you. These skincare products will **** up our face later in life, people just don't know it.What is it about the language of skin care products that persuades you to buy them?
    HELLO RACHEL,

IT'S WHAT THE PRODUCT DOES,NOT THE PACKAGE. OFF BRANDS HAVE THE SAME

INGREDENTS IN THEM AS THE MORE COSTLY ONES!!! READ THE PACKAGE.

    GOOD LUCK,

    misspiggy
yep I say its ingredients :)
Clinical testing and scientific proof that they work with photographic evidence, as well as recommended by reputable dermatologists and reliable patient testimonials. HTH : )
I stick to my old NIVEA and will only buy variety of products from them. Adverts about skin products really irritate me, the way the chuck names at you in latin mixed with english as if it is something magical.
I look at the ingredients and like things that have alpha-hydroxy acids in them. Oh, yeah!! eat that skin off, baby.
Nothing. In fact I find the language used in their ads rather silly and exaggerated, often way beyond common sense. That is one of the reasons why I do not buy them. The other is that there are plenty of natural resources like plant extracts and flower essence which one can produce oneself and use with great benefit for the improvement of the skin. They have also the benefit of being free from added aggressive chemicals. Our ancestors used those natural remedies for centuries and even millenia, while the skin care industry is less than a hundred years old.

And since the skin care industry produces products that are - strictly speaking - not essential and necessary for our life, they use that overburdened and often so totally unreal language to persuade the less critical people.
    anythin that says no alcohol
    dunno
    that is a great question....

Most and almost every product says the same thing they will take years off of your face...a good percentage of the products cant do that. It all starts with taking care of your face and finding something that works for you. Dont be fooled that the more epenisve the better...that is not true. Genetics plays a large part on it as well.

Each product has to have one campagin out there better then the rest. they say they will take years off of your face. Women today try one product and are not to happy with it then they see another commercial and run out and purchase another one.

Skin care products are the highest marketing products other then diet pills and drinks. You can use a under priced product over an over priced product and get the same results.

Some women fall for name brand items...DONT DO THAT. If you follow a daily regimine of caring for your face you will see a result that you will be please with.
Its because they subtly suggest that you will look so good and that no effort on your part is needed, other than shelling out lots of money.

Arbonne has a specific line of skin care designed for anti-aging skin ';Intellegence Line'; also ';RE-9'; anti aging products unbelievable results! Start early your on the right track! How can I start at a young age taking care of my skin to minimize wrinkles and ageing?
I would above all recommend limiting exposure to sun without sunscreen. Use any good cream appropriate for your skin condition (dry or oily).
Sunblock! Sunblock! Sunblock! Sun exposure causes most aging.
yes use olay products! ANY olay products can help they work the best in my family and none of my family have wrinkles
im not sure ...but may be u have to keep away from the sun !!
Cleanse, tone, and moisturize, morning and evening, with a product line appropriate for your age.

Use a moisturizer/lotion with at least SPF15 for daytime.

Drink plenty of water, so you moisturize your skin from the inside too.

I have been using Avon Anew lately. Before that I used Olay Regenerist. Both have very good products. You may have to experiment a little to find what is best suited for your skin.
Mosturize in the morning and before bed every day/night. Always use a moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher everyday (even if it's cloudy)...lots of water and take your viamins. Trust me I'm approaching 30 in two years and have yet to have any wrinkles since I've been a fanatic about taking care of my skin since i was about 20. Good Luck!

How can I help my teenage daughter to take care of her skin?

My 15 year old daughter has developed acne and we have tried many things to make it go away, but she is just getting worse! What natural solutions are out there that we could use to safely help her skin clear up? She drinks plenty of water and our food is relatively healthy.

Thanks! How can I help my teenage daughter to take care of her skin?
i used to suffer terrible when i was younger and the best thing i used was anything with tea tree in but not a cheap 1 as it can be weak but by using that and after you have washed your face you must splash it with cold water and that closes the poors and it really helkped honestly just by splashing her face with cold water helps so much !! goodluck to her good question star for you !How can I help my teenage daughter to take care of her skin?
Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Cleansing Pads-- it is amazing. I originally bought it just for the heck of it because of the good reviews I've read online, but I wasn't expecting anything like, incredible. My acne was never bad, I had a few spots here and there, but after a few days of use my skin was unbelievably clear. It was so weird looking back at the reflection.

I also used it on my brother who has a war-zone of acne on his face. After a couple of weeks (we only use it at night), his face softened and isn't as oily and cleared up a lot!

The pads come in a large tub. There's 28 total, and it may be slightly pricier (I got it for about $7) but the pads are huge and so packed with moisture and foam that I cut them in half for my brother and use only a quarter for me.

    I totally recommand it.
PRO ACTIV! I don't work for them and have no reason to promote their product other than IT WORKS! I have never had better skin than since I have been using that. I have recommended it to 4 other people who thanked me when their skin cleared up too.
Keep her from touching her face too much! Also, her food may be relatively healthy, but fat and oils in some foods may make her acne worse. Staying away from chemicals in makeup or cosmetics may clear up her skin too.

She might even be allergic to something she's eating or using on her face...?

If all fails, it's probably hormone related. When she gets older, it should get better.
I have found my daughter had some success with Mary Kay Velocity skin care line. Also, she uses the acne treatment gel and blemish control toner. You can find a mary kay consultant in your area, or e-mail me and I can put you in touch with mine. I know it can be a tragic thing for girls. I hope this will help for you.
My brother used ProActiv and it didn't work for him. It only works for some....not everyone. It's expensive too. As far as natural things, I was going to say drink lots of water and eat healthy but you said she already does that. Hmm, has she seen a dermatologist? I think that would be your best bet. My parents took me to a dermatologist at a very young age and I am extremely grateful they did! They will help her find what is best for her. Also, one thing I thought of, you can buy her Noxema face wash with microbeads. I use that and it works great. Make sure she washes her face once at night and once in the morning. Good luck !!
you can try using exfoliating cream and then use acne lotion on the face afterwards. keeping your hands off of the face is very important. hands carry more oil and germs than people realize, and thats how most of the acne begins. you could also talk to your doctor, they may be able to prescribe a pill and or cream that could work wonders.

    goodluck

You need to contact them ASAP and ask them these questions. If you get a rep who has no idea, which is probably what will happen, contact a dermatologist and see if they will answer these questions without charging you and making you come in. Do an internet search for that main ingrediant and see what it says.
L'Oreal's has SPF of only 15 or 18. Maybe you need more sunblock. If you are exposed to the sun all day maybe you need to put on sunblock more than once during daytime.
this works good actually, my wife uses it on me after our shower.

Will your skin go into ';shock'; by suddenly switching skin care products?

I was at Sephora sampling products in search of a new skin care routine. IThe salesperson warned me that if I just suddenly switch my cleanser and moisturizer, my skin will go into ';shock.'; Is there any truth to this?

Also, how long should you give your skin to adapt to a new routine or new products? I often love a product for the first few weeks, and then it seems to turn on me.

Thanks for your help! Will your skin go into ';shock'; by suddenly switching skin care products?
Could be true. It happens to me. I introduce new products one at a time, using them only once a day and watch how my skin responds. If i break out, I stop using the product. I am pretty sure Sephora takes returns of used products. I know Whole Foods/Whole Body does.

I am 22 and I use Avon Anew Retroactive+ 2in1 cleanser/toner... great for oily or acne-prone skin, and made for women in their 20's. All of the moisturizers in the Anew line are too heavy for me, and leave my face shiny, so I use Hydraradiance Day Lotion (Avon Solutions line) and Ageless Results Renewing eye cream. Ive gone past the pubertal stage and thankfully has been getting very seldom issues with pimples. One thing I learned, its important to always keep your face clean, but moisturised.

Pro Active worked for me though i didn,t need it that bad 3 years ago. Its worth a try for you if you want to. Acnes, zits, pimples, they are all normal and despite all efforts they can come back. These are also hormone related at its most active and I had a cousin of mine who had cleansing diet, flushed all toxins out and everything has gone clear.

Also, is it okay if i just use it at night, or do i have to use it in the day as well? i know the box says to use it day and night, but of course they say that because it would use up the product faster and you'd have to buy more of it.

What is a safe and gentle way to care for the skin on my hands?

Use a sugar scrub and baby lotion...I know the baby lotion sounds kinda of dumb but it does work because it's formulated with all the vitamins the skin needs. What is a safe and gentle way to care for the skin on my hands?
That is a really easy question. Keep your hands clean whenever there is visible dirt or its smelly or it feels dirty. When youre washing your hands use mild soap that doesnt include any ingredients that could irritate your skin. Wash your hands everywhere up to your wrists. Make sure to get through to the fingers. Washing your hands is a good way to become hygienic and it makes your hands soft. Also, it clears out any dirt so when youre washing your hands always put lotion on to lock in that cleaness and softness. Make sure you don't put too less or too much. Too much is ok so long as you have something to rub on the excess lotion. Never ever put too less lotion. This just gives your hands less moisture. Never ever do anything that will make your hands feel rough like holding rocks or limestones. This will make it feel tough and hard and it takes a lot off patience and moisturizer to soften you hands again. These are all safe and gentle procedures. I hope this helps. What is a safe and gentle way to care for the skin on my hands?
I recommend Arbonne's Hand Cream. It is the best I have ever used. It moisturizes without leaving your hands feeling greasy. It's very reasonably priced, also.
every night apply a good amount of vaseline on your hands and massage it well. then wear cotton gloves and wash with tap water in the morning. your hands will be so beautifully smooth and silky.

How can you take care of tanned skin and keep it soft?

You need to hit almond oils and olive oils and other softening lotions like Skin Repair and lanolin based creams, or you will end up looking like leather when you age...crinkled leather too...

I was/am still a sun lover, but I use creams and oils very generously...coconut oil and cocoa butter are also good ones. You have to find one that works for your skin...and use it continually.

Dark skins fare better..have a look at Brigitte Bardot today..she was a blonde tanned beauty in her time...How can you take care of tanned skin and keep it soft?
You can get moisturising lotion with added tanning stuff with it now, so not only good for dry skin but will also add to that sexy tanned skin.
I love Nivea Sun products. They have a whole line of products with SPF for the summer. My favorite is the Nivea Sun Sun-Spray with UVA and UVB filter. It is quickly absorbed into the skin and it gives tanned skin a wonderful glow. It also lasts for several hours and leaves skin feeling silky and moist.
Lose about 200lbs and then lay off the butter chunks....wipe yourself down with some oil and get more exercise to maintain that soft silky look...best of luck tubbs
Moisturize, moisturize and just keep slathering on that lotion/oil, body butter.

you have a combination skin.....use a oil control cleanser followed by a moisturising toner and end with a oil control moisturiser....i have oily skin and this works great...also drink lots of water..people think dryness is absence of oil but actually is absence of water.....drink 6 - 8 glasses atleast during the day and see how your skin looks......How do i take care of oily skin during winters?
I have the same issue. This last winter I used a cleaner that had glycolic acid in it, a grapefruit toner, and sweet almond oil as a moisturizer (just 4 drops for the face). It can be used on your entire body. I think it worked wonders- no break-outs.

If you do start to feel greasy, spritz yourself with a facial spray. I made my own out of DISTILLED water and a few drops of almond oil (about 8 drops per 3oz of water). It is refreshing and will neautralize the pH of your skin to prevent break-outs!
The best thing you can do for skin is moisturise. Even though your skin is oily if you find an oil balancing moisturiser you'll see the results. Simple and shiseido have a great range!!!
well i use lakme peach milk.....its gud....
For oily skin, I don't recommend much of a change in regimen, unless you're being exposed to harsh outdoor elements. but i will give you some of the tips to take care oily skin.

Oily skin can appear soft, supple and even dewy. But however if your skin is too oily it can produce a dull and a greasy look that can make you look less attractive. Further more it will be responsible for popping up pimples and acnes on your face. Here are a few tips to care for your oily skin; tips that help your skin look more oil free.

The first and most essential way of treating oily skin is to wash one's face more often as three to four times a day with a good soap. This will help reduce the spreading of oil on the face.

Use a soap that is suggested by your dermatologist or use a soap that is free of oils and moisturizers.

If you find your skin comfortable with a particular soap that you have used for a long time then continue to use it.

Wash your face with cold water that will help to lighten the pores.

Clean neem leaves crushed into a paste and applied on the face help to dry up pimples.

Ice cucumber slices or refrigerated cucumber paste applied to the face for about 15 minutes serves as a good face pack for oily skin.

Sunscreens and moisturizers should be oil free. See if they are noncomedogenic (oil free). Use a moisturizer that is light and watery.

Soak cotton wool in astringent and sweep over the face to keep it fresh and cool.

While exposing your skin to facials always go for the ones that are for oily skins

Try not using moisturizers, as they will tend to make the skin greasier resulting in pimples.

Use oil free make up, moisturizers, cleansers and foundations. However do not use a cleanser that causes to over dry the skin as it can make your skin more oily than usual.

It is always good to use a gel or a lotion for an oily skin as cream seeks to lubricate the skin making it oilier.

An exfoliated skin helps to maintain the moisture balance. So use a face scrub once in a while.

If you are going to be away from home for a long time, carry wet face tissues for cleansing purposes

Drink lots of water that will help in hydrating the skin.

Last but not the least, avoid eating fatty food that can cause your skin to become more oily.

I found this website and I've been using the regime they reccommend, acne.org

it's just cleanser in the morning and evening, wait for your face to dry then apply benzoyle peroxide (2.5%). It worked wonders for my skin! just as long as you're consistant. It will probably dry out your face but it goes away after a few weeks

How do i take care of my skin in the winter?

I've usually had pretty clear and healthy skin, but for some reason over the past few months it's not looking so good. I've been getting a few pimples/scarring and the harsh winter cold is making it really worse and dry. I've never really moisterized or taken care of my skin other than washing my face every day. What should my daily routine be with exfoliating/moisturizing? And is there any creams that can do all this at once and maybe clear up some scars? How do i take care of my skin in the winter?
if you want to get rid of the scarring, speak to your dermatologist about it and get the medically proven facts about them rather than just fad products that you may find in a pharmacy.

The best way to keep your skin healthy is to be careful in the sun.

Limit time in the sun. Try to stay out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is when the sun’s rays are strongest. Don’t be fooled by cloudy skies. The sun’s rays can pass through clouds. You can also get sunburned if you are in water, so be careful when you are in a pool, lake, or the ocean.

Use sunscreen. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) number of 15 or higher. It’s best to choose sunscreens with “broad spectrum” on the label. “Water resistant” sunscreen stays on your skin even if you get wet or sweat a lot, but it isn’t waterproof and needs to be put on about every 2 hours.

Wear protective clothing. A hat with a wide brim can shade your neck, ears, eyes, and head. Look for sunglasses that block 99 to 100 percent of the sun’s rays. If you have to be in the sun, wear loose, lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and long pants or long skirts.

Avoid tanning. Don’t use sunlamps or tanning beds. Tanning pills are not approved by the FDA and might not be safe.

Your skin may change with age. But remember, there are things you can do to help. Check your skin often. If you find any changes that worry you, see your doctor.

Can skin care products with collagen and elastin really penetrate the skin?

No, skincare cream cannot penetrate too deep in the dermis

If you have fine lines and minor wrinkles collagen stimulating

creams like Olay Regenerist (said to be the best) will

I would really ask your facialist (sp? sound it out) on what skin care product is best for you. However, the below product is what I use.

If you have sensitive skin, this product is great. I would get the second one on this list, the third one on this list, and the fifth one on this list. Once you purchase it, just follow the directions. First, use the cleanser, then the spray toner, then the lotion. This is the skin care system I use. This website offers a BIG BARGAIN on this product, which is awesome. This product is usually much more expensive.

http://www.spaskin.com/Pevonia_Botanica_鈥?/a>Any skin care tips for 13 y.o with acne prone and oily and sensitive skin?
Here are some causes and tips that I followed that treated my acne:

Clogged pores or follicles - Acne is caused by clogged ';pores'; or ';follicles'; small openings in the skin, that contain a hair and sebaceous oil gland. The medical term, ';acne vulgar is'; is the most common kind of acne. It can show up anywhere on the body but it is usually found on the face, back, shoulders, and chest. Follicles become clogged by dead skin cells and oil called sebum, made in the pore.

Try to avoid things that can irritate your skin and cause acne such as:

    1. Tight headbands, helmets or wool hats

    2. Greasy lotions, hair products, and oily makeup

    3. Grease-filled air in restaurant kitchens. If you work in this type of environment, be sure to wash your face when you get home.

    4. Stress. When you are emotionally stressed your body makes extra hormones that can cause breakouts.

Let me know if this was helpful! :)
For the acne i would advise seeing a dermatologist if possible as they will advise you on exactly the right products you should be using.

As for having oily skin, make sure you don't overwash or cleanse your skin as this will encourage the production of oils. Avoid heavy creams and opt for light lotions and moisturiser which are labeled as non comedogenic and non acnegenic, as this will stop pores becoming blocked which would result in spots. You'll be able to find these products in most organic and sensitive skin brands which will be a lot more gentle for your skin.

As for mineral make up, i love it and it should help your skin as its generally oil free but i would remove make up to exercise as combined with sweat its going to make your acne and oily skin worse.

Couple more tips - try keeping your hair off your face as much as possible, particularly at night and avoid touching your skin to much as this adds to the oiliness.

Putting some Honey on your skin is a great way to treat acne. The sugar that is naturally inside of it,has great anti-bacterial properties. It doesn't dry out the skin either.Leave it on fairly thick for about 30 mins..(if you dont have the time, you can leave it on as little as 5).Rinse.Do that once a week.Ex foliating your skin and keeping it clean is a big factor.Find some type of regimen suitable for your skin. There are tons of all natural products from ';Burts Bee's'; with barely if not any preservatives or chemicals at all, just natural fruit and veggie extracts.I've tried them, they work great.

They are available online and at most pharmacies.
You should sleep at least 8 hrs a day, drink plenty of water, this will keep your skin moist and hydrated. Use natural alternative in treating your skin.

Do you know anything about skin care/diseases?

My friend is having an issue with her belly button. There is this rash type thing that surrounds her belly button and she said it is extremely itchy. It has been there for quite some time and she cleans it with peroxide but it is still there. And she knows it is not a allergic reaction to her clothes. The rash is also bumpy. Do you have any clue as to what it may be?Do you know anything about skin care/diseases?
Peroxide is probably a bad idea and will probably make it worse. It could be a reaction to tight clothes or belts. She should make an appointment with a dermatologist and try cortisone cream in the mean time and clean in with something very mild and fragrance free like baby soap or olive oil soap.

Just remember that moisture is the key! Even if you have oily skin, you still use it.

    Some tips:

-drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses a day) as this can help flush out toxins that cause acne

    -eat your fruits and veggies!

-exercise (as the sweat you produce also takes these acne-causing bacteria out of your body, but just remember to wash your face afterwards)

-try to reduce the amount of stress in your life, by doing something such as yoga (stress is the number one cause of acne)

-do not pick or touch your face EVER. This can cause the bacteria to spread, causing more pimples.

-reduce your sugar intake as this can aggrivate acne.

Women, do you notice how often we tug, pull, wipe, and sometimes scrub this area. What can be done to keep it in prestine condition? How to better care for the skin in the eye area?
First of all you definitely should not scrub, tug, pull or wipe this area. The eye area is the most delicate skin on your face! Be gentle or you will damage it.

Use a eye cream for this area. You should never apply the cream just beneath eyes as your eye wouldn't like it and the skin either. Apply the cream just around the area depending what exactly you would like to have as the result.

If you suffer from the puffiness or shadows I would advice you to use the product from chanel (use it by myself) against the puffiness (day and night) or the all about eyes rich. It smooths the lines and help to get rid off the puffiness.

I often wonder should I spend $50-80 on a high end eye cream or night cream or spend less and get the same results?

Do you really get what you pay for when it comes to facial skin care products? Are more expensive skin care products better for over 40 skin?
Nope!! What you pay for with more expensive products are the packaging and advertising. I'm a marketing student and we actually discussed this in class and discovered that the contents alone of Chanel no.5 actually costs about $2!! Also if you look at the ingredients of creme de La Mer you'll see that it's almost exactly the same as Nivea cream. A lot of people who buy expensive products are not just looking for performance but also for status and recognition amogst their peers. These big companies know this so they actually deliberately set their prices high so that their products are perceived as exclusive and therefore better when that is not the case at all! You're better off just buying drugstore products that you like and save your money for nice clothes where you can actually see and enjoy the quality! Are more expensive skin care products better for over 40 skin?
    i do with all Christian Dior products, i use L'oral and Lancom sometimes, my mom she is 50something uses Estee Lauder and she is happy with it :) but it is not always the price, there are some expensive brands ( very few)but don't make a good effect;
I think there are many cases where you're simply paying for the label. There are many companies who buy a product just to put their labels on. Give the Mary Kay skin care line a try. Mary Kay has their products made especially for them. The results will speak for themselves and the prices are VERY reasonable. The Mary Kay lines includes all skin care products imaginable, plus full color, body care, and fragrance lines as well. I'd be happy to send you free samples of any of our products!
