How do I take care of dry skin on face?

I've been experiencing dry skin patches between my lips and chin and just below the corners of my mouth. Also have dry skin patch on my nose between my eyes. Have tried moisturizers day and night and prescription ointments that only last temporarily. Have also tried changing brand of make up I use. Not getting any positive results. Have not seen a dermatologist yet either. How do I take care of dry skin on face?
It could possibly be dermatitis or ezcema. This will require morturizers along with a prescribed steroid cream. How do I take care of dry skin on face?
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and use a face pack of ripe bananas and honey. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for dry skin at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/dryskin.html
First of all, your makeup can be drying out your skin. I rarely wear make-up because my skin is naturally dry, has been since I became an adult. If you are using make-up remover and/or soap, that can dry your skin over time.

What I do (more-so in the cold months) is wash my face with a warm washcloth and once a week use Aveeno skin brightening daily scrub in the shower (it is specifically for the face). I use it then because of the steam. I chose not to use it everyday because I feel it will wear down the skin cells too much and cause more damage.

I apply Vaseline petroleum jelly cream, it's called Deep Moisture onto my whole face (lips included) right after any showers, and after facial wash. It is non-scented and absorbs in to the skin without that greasy feeling. It works great all over the body too and lasts quite awhile.

For the few times I do wear make-up, it helps the make-up appearance not show any dry skin flakes underneath. It doesn't cost much to do and the Vaseline in most cases won't cause an allergic reaction.

Give it a try and mabe it'll work for you.
